Information technology executive Tom Deaderick joins HMG administrative team as director of business development

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Holston Medical Group is pleased to announce Tom Deaderick has joined its administrative team as director of business development. Deaderick, who enjoyed success as president of Intellithought, a Kingsport-based, technology company offering network support, web and eCommerce creation, and custom application development, comes to HMG with nearly 20 years of information technology and marketing experience.

“Tom is not only innovative in his pursuits but also experienced as a proven leader,” said HMG Founder and President Jerry L. Miller, MD, noting Deaderick’s avid interest in Carespark and healthcare information technology. “His experience in strategic innovation and technical sales/marketing will serve him well at Holston Medical Group. We look forward to his progressive leadership as he forges new paths for HMG.”

In his capacity of director of business development, Deaderick will be the providing key leadership for the launch of OnePartner— a new management services organization HMG is pioneering that will provide the regional healthcare industry with affordable access to modern electronic health information technology. HMG has become known throughout the nation as an innovator in the comprehensive utilization of electronic health records.

“I really couldn’t be more excited to have this opportunity,” says Deaderick. “I met Dr. Miller back in 2002. He was speaking at a CareSpark meeting, and he was so passionate about improving every aspect of healthcare in our region that I wanted to find every opportunity to help. Since then I’ve met several other folks from HMG and they are all outstanding. I’m looking forward to working with them. We have plans in place that will really make an impact on our region. It’s really exciting.”

Deaderick, who received a bachelor of science degree in engineering design technology from East Tennessee State University, comes to HMG with experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies like Eastman Chemical and Raytheon, to start-up firms such as e-STEEL, Blackfin and Intellithought. While at Eastman, Deaderick pioneered Eastman’s Internet development, designing the chemical industry’s first online parametric product catalog.

A native of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Deaderick and his wife, Martha, reside in Jonesborough with their sons, Zachary and Ian.
