HMG Welcomes New Family Physician Ed McBride, MD
Tuesday, June 12, 2007KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Holston Medical Group is pleased to welcome family physician Ed McBride, MD. Board certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. McBride comes to HMG from Floyd Primary Care, Rome, Ga., where he has served since 1999. Additionally, Dr. McBride served as clinical assistant professor of medicine with Mercer University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga., where he was appointed to the Center for Disease Control’s “National Immunization Symposium on Quality Initiatives.” Graduating cum laude from Lee College, Cleveland, Tenn., with a bachelor of science, Dr. McBride received his doctorate of medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, where he was the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards. He completed his family practice residency with Carilion Health System, Roanoke, Va. During his time in Rome, Dr. McBride was active in both community and church involvement. In addition to serving as a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America, a team physician for area high schools and colleges, he also ministered as a Sunday School teacher and as a deacon. He and his wife, Cynthia, will reside in Kingsport with their three children. Dr. McBride’s office will be located in Suite 200 of the Indian Path Medical Office Building, Kingsport.
