Dr. Scott Fowler receives The Business Journal’s “Innovation Award”.
Twenty-five individuals and organizations within the Tri-Cities have excelled in healthcare excellence, and, according to The Tri-Cities Business Journal, Holston Medical Group President & CEO Scott Fowler, MD, JD, is one of them.
More than 100 attendees were present for the 19th Annual Health Care Heroes Awards held at the Johnson City Country Club. During the gathering of “health care heroes” from across the region, HMG’s Dr. Fowler was awarded the “innovation award” for his involvement in Holston Medical Group’s progressive advancement of electronic health records utilization and the development of a regional health information exchange.
“Health care is an integral part of the local economy,” said Scott Robertson, managing editor of The Tri-Cities Business Journal. “It’s the single largest economic driver in the region. But more than that, it’s a profession in which heroic acts are performed literally every day. The Business Journal and our partners give the awards both to share these remarkable stories of heroism with our readers in the business community and to let these heroes know that the business community supports and appreciates them.”
