About Dr. Homistek

Family medicine has always been a calling for Homistek because she loves the variety that each day brings. Treating family members of all ages helps her identify health risks and family pressures for her patients. “Understanding the bigger picture for patients shapes preventative care which can make a big difference in a healthier life.” Homistek evaluates symptoms as well as the impact of lifestyle and environmental factors on the patient’s overall health.

While Dr. Homistek enjoys treating all age groups, she especially is fond of pediatrics. “I love bonding with children, which I am hopeful makes appointments more pleasant for both the child and parent.” Kids understand more than you think, so being able to explain what is going to happen upfront goes a long way in relieving anxiety.

She appreciates that the needs of women’s health changes throughout the seasons of their life and is grateful to be able to provide that continuity of care. In addition, balancing family and work can create anxiety that can take a toll on health. Dr. Homistek looks at the daily pressures you face and considers this in appointments. She says that early intervention is vital to help prevent health issues from spiraling out of control. Another useful tool is the power of touch, which Homistek incorporates when appropriate with osteopathic treatments.

With today’s busy lifestyles, finding time to volunteer is challenging. Yet, Homistek says that giving back can reduce stress and depression. “I encourage my patients to find a cause that gives them a sense of purpose.” Homistek participates in community health clinics. She also is looking forward to joining HMG’s community outreach programs.

She resides in Huntersville where she enjoys music, reading, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. On game days, you’ll find her watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers.
