About

When Shell saw her sister struggle with her pregnancy, she knew she wanted to work in obstetrics and gynecology to help other women and provide them the support she wanted for her sister during that difficult time.

“My sister had a difficult pregnancy, and I went to several appointments with her,” said Shell. “Sharing that experience with her piqued my interest to become a midwife.” She explained that she realized how vital a strong and trusting relationship between patients and providers must be during that time.

“It is my goal to educate, inform, and empower women to make their own choices in their healthcare journey,” stated Shell. “It is my passion to meet my patients where they are and agree on a path forward together. “I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to women throughout their lifespan, including prenatal, antepartum, postpartum, and gynecological care,” said Shell.”

Shell obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, TN) and her Master of Science in the Nurse-Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at Georgetown University Washington D.C.). Shell enjoys spending time with her husband and tending to the family farm, Shell and Son Farm, in Jonesborough, TN. They have an active golden retriever that enjoys outdoor activities with them.
