Laura Wagner, PA

Wagner, a native of Bristol, was inspired at a young age to pursue a career in the medical field so she could help families who may struggle with understanding their diagnosis and treatment options. “I remember when my grandparents were ill, and it was hard for us to understand everything the providers were telling us about their issues,” said Wagner. “My goal is to help fill that gap by explaining medical terms and diagnosis in terms that patients and their families can easily understand, easing their stress and supporting their recovery.”

While training to become a physician assistant, Wagner enjoyed her time in family medicine and emergency medicine because of the various conditions they treated. “I’m excited to join the HMG Urgent Care team because I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and connect with their patient-centered focus,” said Wagner. “I’m also looking forward to diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions and helping people when they need it most.”

Wagner received her Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies from the Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, TN. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN.

Wagner enjoys spending quality time with her new husband, family, and friends. She is a State Street United Methodist Church member in Bristol, Va. In addition, she has extensive volunteer experience and enjoys serving the community.
