About

Simpson grew up knowing she wanted to be a nurse. “My mother was sick while I was growing up,” said Simpson. “I saw how the providers helped, interacted, and cared for her. I knew I wanted to help people like they helped my mom.” Simpson has been providing care to patients for over 20 years. “The best part is getting to know people and creating that relationship. What I do is more than taking care of an illness, it’s taking care of the whole person,” explained Simpson. “I did my clinical training in Duffield and fell in love with the community,” stated Simpson. “It feels like home to me. During my training, I told them I would be back one day to care for them, and now I am!”

Simpson has a special interest in pulmonology and cardiac patients. “My mother had cardiac and pulmonary issues, so I have additional knowledge of those two areas of medicine,” said Simpson. She also enjoys pediatrics and kids of all ages.

Simpson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Simpson received her Master of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN. She received her undergraduate degree from King University, Bristol, TN.
