HMG welcomes primary care physician, Danielle Weston, DO, to HMG Primary Care at Sapling Grove, 240 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, TN.
Born and raised outside of Elizabethton, Dr. Weston was the first in her family to pursue a medical career. “Being from here, I feel I can better understand and connect with my patients,” says Dr. Weston. “I understand this region, the people, and the values they hold, which will help me build lasting relationships with them.”
Dr. Weston chose to pursue family medicine because of the relationships that family medicine physicians cultivate with their patients. She believes in a holistic approach to care, considering at all aspects of someone’s life to determine the best approach together as a team.
Dr. Weston is trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), a set of hands-on techniques that a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) uses to diagnose and treat various illnesses. “OMT is something that can really help a lot of people,” Dr. Weston explains. “It’s a great first option for those who are looking for an alternative to prescription medications and can treat a wide range of health conditions.”
When considering where she would establish her practice, Dr. Weston says, “I chose HMG because I love that HMG is physician-owned and led; patients always come first. HMG is also multi-specialty and offers over 30 specialties and services, making it the best place for patients to find highly coordinated, convenient care and the best place for physicians to practice.”
Dr. Weston and her husband met when they were young kids camping at the same campground every year with their families. They still love the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking with their six dogs, and riding their horses together.
Dr. Weston received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages with a concentration in Spanish at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lynchburg, VA. She completed her family medicine residency at East Tennessee State University, Bristol, TN, and has a great working relationship with the Bristol area physicians.
