HMG Welcomes Two New Primary Care Providers

By HMG

Sandra McCoy and Stephanie Purvis Holston Medical Group proudly welcomes Sandra McCoy, FNP-BC, and Stephanie Purvis, NP-C, to HMG Primary Care at Weber City, located at 1754 US Hwy 23 N, Weber City, VA. McCoy will work alongside Paul Provance, MD, and Purvis, joining Bryan Arnette, MD, as part of a growing team committed to supporting the community in navigating their healthcare needs and establishing healthy lifestyle choices for a lifetime of good health.

McCoy is a proud resident of the area and deeply understands the community’s health needs. Her career began in critical care, where she served as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse, supporting patients and families, including her own, during their most vulnerable moments.

“I’ve seen firsthand how quickly health issues can escalate,” said McCoy. “Now, I’m excited to focus on prevention by partnering with patients early to help manage chronic conditions, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide ongoing education.”

McCoy emphasizes the importance of communication and compassion in building lasting patient relationships.” I listen and ensure patients and families feel comfortable asking questions. I believe in creating a non-judgmental environment where people feel supported in their health journey,” she said.

McCoy received her undergraduate and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Purvis, a Southwest Virginia native, is passionate about improving health outcomes in the communities she calls home. She brings over a decade of nursing experience and a commitment to relationship-based care.

“One of the most rewarding parts of family medicine is developing strong bonds with patients and families over time,” said Purvis. “I strive to involve patients in every aspect of their care. We’re a team working toward long-term health goals together.”

With a special interest in pediatrics, Purvis believes in supporting families through every stage of life, from childhood to adulthood. Her holistic approach to care includes preventive services, chronic disease management, and wellness education.

Purvis earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa, and her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.

McCoy and Purvis are now accepting new patients and are committed to providing compassionate, accessible care in Weber City and surrounding areas.
