Holston Medical Group is happy to announce that Shawna Armstrong has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
“Shawna has seen HMG through many pivotal moments of growth,” said Dr. Scott Fowler, President & CEO of Holston Medical Group. “She has had an integral role in facilitating the strategic financial management of HMG for nearly 20 years. Her knowledge and leadership have always been key to our success, and I look forward to continuing to work with Shawna as HMG continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community.”
Shawna has been employed by HMG for nearly 20 years and has been serving as Controller for the past 19 years. As Controller, Armstrong has overseen the day-to-day of the HMG’s accounting department while playing an integral part in the financial management and strategic advancement of HMG and its related companies including managing the transition to today’s convenient electronic processes across operational, clinical and patient needs. Armstrong has also had key roles in facilitating the financial aspects of HMG’s clinical expansion and strategic partnerships.

Armstrong received her bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as her master’s in business administration from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN. She is a native of Kingsport where she resides with her husband Kevin and their three children. She is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel, and she enjoys traveling, attending the kids’ sports activities, and enjoying time with her family.
