Adam Coe portrait Holston Medical Group welcomes Adam Coe, MD, to HMG Gastroenterology at Sapling Grove at 240 Medical Park Blvd., Suite 2000, Bristol, TN, and HMG Gastroenterology at Medical Plaza, located at 105 W. Stone Drive, Suite 2B, Kingsport, TN.

Dr. Coe’s commitment to providing high-quality, cost-effective care is rooted in his connection to and love for the community. He is a native of Abingdon and grew up on a family farm, where he learned early on about the cycle of life. Born with a health condition, Dr. Coe has never been a stranger to the healthcare field. His experience as a child ultimately led him to pursue a healthcare career. He was inspired by those who cared for him, which motivated him to become a doctor.

As a member of HMG’s Bristol and Kingsport gastroenterology teams, Dr. Coe will support improving the health and well-being of the community through the care of patients impacted by liver disease and cancer.

“My biggest focus is to take care of my patients the way I was taken care of by my surgeons at Wake Forest,” said Dr. Coe. “I treat my patients as if they were my mother or my children.”

Dr. Coe was drawn to HMG because of their shared belief in being a health partner for patients. “I believe everyone needs someone to care for them,” said Dr. Coe. Because of this, Dr. Coe makes a point to spend time with patients during both clinic and surgery to ensure he provides the most cost-effective, evidence-based and compassionate care possible.

Dr. Coe received his medical doctorate at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Va. Then, to further honor the providers who took care of him as a child, he completed his residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Center, Winston-Salem, NC. After completing his training, Dr. Coe moved to Kingsport and has cared for the community since 2016.

Dr. Coe enjoys spending time with his wife of 17 years, three young children, and three dogs. Their family enjoys outdoor activities, including water sports, hunting, and fishing. In addition, Dr. Coe is a member of the Cassidy Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN.
