HMG Rehabilitation Welcomes Warren Shelton, DPT

By HMG

Warren Shelton, DPT portraitHolston Medical Group welcomes Warren Shelton, DPT, to the highly qualified team of providers at HMG Rehabilitation at Medical Plaza, 105 W. Stone Drive, Suite 1D, Kingsport, TN, to further increase access to personalized, empathetic care in the region.

Shelton has always been active and grew up playing sports in high school. After suffering some minor injuries, Shelton was exposed to physical therapy and admired the way his providers worked with him and other patients he witnessed. He also saw the great work they did in the community.

“I experienced our hometown physical therapist serving our community and making a difference in the lives of others,” said Shelton. “I wanted to serve others and make the same impact by helping patients like me navigate their recovery journey to get them back to doing the things they love.”

Leaning on HMG’s shared philosophy of whole-person healthcare, Shelton focuses on individualized treatment that considers the body and mind , not just the injury. “Each therapy session is specific to each patient,” stated Shelton. “We work together for the entirety of the healing process, and I get to know them on an individual basis in order to provide quality medical care that exceeds their expectations and builds lasting relationships.”

In addition, Shelton works with several modalities to address pain, including dry needling therapy. Dry Needling Physical Therapy is a treatment for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. “Dry needling can be a natural pain reliever; it reduces inflammation and improves range of motion for many patients,” explains Shelton.

Shelton received his doctorate and completed his undergraduate studies at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN.

Shelton is a Unicoi Co. native and enjoys spending time with his fiancé. He plays guitar and bass in his church worship team and enjoys camping and fishing. He values time with his family and serving his church.
