Holston Medical Group (HMG) is pleased to welcome two new physicians and a family nurse practitioner to the HMG Family of Care. Kevin Metzger, DO a primary care and sports medicine physician, will join HMG Primary Care in Johnson City, and Lauren Stout, MD, will join Bristol Pediatric Associates. All three providers will begin seeing patients on July 20, 2020.
Dr. Kevin Metzger took an interest in science and sports early on in life and knew he wanted to find a way to incorporate both into his career. Throughout his time in high school, Dr. Metzger experienced football injuries that ultimately introduced and led him to learn more about the sports medicine world. He says, “During residency, I worked with many sports medicine physicians in the area. With experience and knowledge in primary care and sports medicine, I wanted to be able to pursue both and that’s when I noticed the model that HMG had created for their sports medicine physicians.”
Dr. Lauren Stout has a passion caring for pediatric patients, “I enjoy making lifelong relationships with families, it is important that they are comfortable with me and the care that I am providing their children.” While Dr. Stout looks forward to assisting with everything from well-visits, sick-visits and vaccinations, she has a specific passion for helping children with asthma, ADHD, and providing education and care that is specific to teens and young adults.
