Holston Medical Group welcomes certified physician assistant Lisa Adams, PA-C, to HMG Orthopedics at Medical Plaza in Kingsport (105 W. Stone Drive, Suite 4B) and HMG Orthopedics at Sapling Grove in Bristol (240 Medical Park Blvd., Suite 1500) joining Dr. Ashraf Youssef, Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremities.
Mrs. Adams started her healthcare career as a nurse, and after more than a decade, she decided to further her education and become a Physician Assistant. Her transition to physician assistant has allowed her to have a more active role in the care of her patients.
Mrs. Adams has personal experience as a patient in orthopedics. “I’ve been an orthopedic patient and had multiple orthopedic surgeries,” said Mrs. Adams. “Due to my experience as a patient going through the surgeries and recovery, I can empathize and better understand my patients’ challenges.”
Mrs. Adams knows the importance of communication between provider and patient, “I want to help patients improve their health and quality of life,” stated Mrs. Adams. “I understand how procedures in orthopedics can help ease pain and mobility, and I want to be there as a resource to help them get back to what they love to do.”
Mrs. Adams received her Master of Health Sciences Degree at South College, Knoxville, TN, and completed her undergraduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Adams is United States Army Combat Medic Veteran and is married with two adult children. She enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She also spends time attending to her freshwater fish aquarium.
