Dr. Kanakiriya’s Focus for Kidney Health
Early detection of hypertension is vital to a healthy life. One in three adults has high blood pressure, which damages blood vessels and filters in the kidney. It is also a leading cause of stroke and cardiac problems. Dr. Kanakiriya says, “Treating hypertension early can prevent kidney disease or delay the progression.” He advocates educating patients and the public to develop a treatment plan to manage high blood pressure. Lifestyle changes and medications are effective in treating hypertension and reducing the risk of a stroke, heart attack or kidney disease.
