Holston Medical Group welcomes Ashley Osterman, FNP, to HMG Urgent Care Centers located at HMG Medical Plaza,105 W Stone Drive, Suite 1F, Kingsport, TN, and HMG Urgent Care at Bristol, 350 Steeles Rd., Suite 1, Bristol, TN.
Osterman grew up working in her father’s medical office and enjoyed watching his passion for medicine and helping people. In addition, her mother was a nurse, and she observed the nurturing side of health care. Both her father and mother were a huge inspiration for her decision to have a career in the medical field. After several years in emergency care, Ashley decided to further her education to become a nurse practitioner, allowing her to assist patients in a new capacity.
“Nursing at all levels is an important role that bridges the gap between the patient and provider,” said Osterman. “As a nurse practitioner, I’m able to do more for my patients and take a lead role in the care they receive.”
Osterman’s experience in emergency medicine allows her to bring the necessary skills to urgent care, meeting the acute needs of patients who arrive for care.
“I enjoy working in an acute care setting because I never know what is coming in the door,” stated Osterman. “My background in emergency medicine has given me great exposure to a variety of injuries and conditions. I’m excited to join the excellent team of providers at Holston Medical Group.”
Osterman received her Master of Science in Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, at East Tennessee University, Johnson City, TN.
Osterman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her family enjoys attending their children’s sporting events, boating, hiking, and camping.
